Find Your Place Through Dance

At Ormao, dance is more than movement. It is a place to belong, create, grow, and connect.

We welcome dancers of all ages, abilities, and experience levels into an inclusive and noncompetitive community where every student is valued. Whether your child is taking their first dance class, exploring a lifelong passion, or preparing for advanced training, our programs are designed to help students build confidence, creativity, and meaningful connections.

Through dance, students learn more than technique. They learn teamwork, resilience, self-expression, leadership, and how to contribute to a supportive community.

Every journey begins with one step.

Children’s & Teens (Ages 2-18)

Summer enrollment is OPEN!

Summer classes (June 15 – August 15) available for ages 2-18 in Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, and Tap.

Making Dances | Building Community

Student Company Program

For dancers who are ready to deepen their dance journey, Student Company offers a pathway for artistic growth, leadership, and belonging.

Modeled after our professional dance company, the Student Company program provides dedicated dancers ages 9–18 with opportunities to create, perform, collaborate, and engage with the community through dance. Students work alongside peers, instructors, guest artists, and professional choreographers while developing both artistic and life skills.

More than a pre-professional training program, Student Company is a place where young people build confidence, discover their voice, and learn how to work together toward a common goal.

Many students continue their dance education in college, pursue professional opportunities, or carry the lessons learned through dance into other careers and leadership roles.

The journey begins with curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to ask:

What if?

“For over a decade I have had the incredible opportunity to train with and find artistic mentorship in Ormao, a place that can best be described by its innovative dance style, open and warm community of dancers and teachers, and prominent role as Colorado Springs’ mecca for modern dance. Both with incredible performance and fantastic educators, Ormao is by far one of the most important artistic communities in Colorado Springs.”

– Thea Roland, currently studying dance at Goucher College, Baltimore MD
