Laurel Schaffer

DANCER

Laurel Schaffer has spent over twenty-five years in the fields of performance and design as a
dancer, choreographer, teacher, and fashion/costume designer. She holds a B.A. in English with
a Minor in Dance from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, an A.A. in Fashion Design
from FIDM, San Francisco, and an MBA in Global Sustainability and Social Impact from Colorado
State University.

As a dancer and choreographer, Laurel has performed with regional companies around the
country. Featured roles included Dew Drop Fairy and Snow in The Nutcracker, as well as
originating contemporary roles for nationally renowned choreographers K.T. Nelson of ODC San
Francisco, and Wade Madsen of Cornish College of the Arts. Her design work has been featured
in San Francisco’s De Young Museum and Sacramento’s California Museum, as well as on
theatre stages throughout Colorado.

Laurel moved to Colorado Springs in 2024 and opened VIV Home & Goods, a home décor store
featuring heritage design pieces and textiles. She is thrilled to be performing as part of the
beautiful Ormao dance community.
